Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Psychiatric Services position in Maine, requiring at least 1 year of mental health nursing experience and a current Maine or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital-based Emergency Psychiatric Services department
• Patient population includes individuals age 5 and up with psychiatric illnesses, including major depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, psychotic disorders, and those seeking detoxification
• Some patients may also have concurrent medical care needs
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Flexibility required to support 24/7 unit coverage needs
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Maine RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
• Minimum 1 year of mental health nursing experience required
• Associate's degree (2-year) in Nursing required
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to manage stress and make sound decisions under pressure
• No previous employment with this facility
• Candidates must have a clean licensure history to be considered

Additional Information

• Responsible for direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process across all assigned areas
• Develops and periodically updates individualized, interdisciplinary plans of care
• Evaluates patient outcomes and identifies available community and facility resources
• Works as an essential member of an interdisciplinary patient care team
• CPI training must be current and verified prior to start
• Candidates whose permanent address is within 50 miles of the facility will receive a reduced pay rate
