American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position at an academic medical center in Missouri, working night shifts with a minimum of 1 year of med/surg experience required.

Details

• Float pool position covering the Med/Surg service line at an academic medical center
• Adult overflow unit serving patients 16 and older across multiple physician teams, including Neurology, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Cardiology, Orthopedics, and Oncology
• Patient diagnoses include diabetes, CHF, COPD, renal disease, orthopedic fractures, and neurological deficits
• Procedures include IV therapy, lab draws, nasogastric tube placement, wound care, assisting with bedside procedures, and conscious sedation
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Cerner charting experience preferred but not required
• 10-bed unit focused on supporting hospital throughput

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand — no pending licenses accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Minimum 2 years of total RN experience required
• Ability to ambulate, reach, and lift or move objects weighing 20 lbs or more
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Charge nurse duties may be assigned as needed
• Holiday coverage required for at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
• Candidates living within 75 miles of the facility are eligible to apply but may qualify at a different pay rate

• Position is in an active healthcare environment open 24/7, with exposure to patients who may have contagious illnesses
