American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Home Health position in the Sarasota/Charlotte County area, requiring OASIS training and skilled home care experience with a varied weekly schedule including alternating weekends.

Details

• Skilled home health setting serving Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance patients
• Patient care includes cardiopulmonary assessments, wound care (basic, ABI compression dressing, wound vac), Pleurx/Asept drain care, foley catheter changes, staple/suture removal, glucometer and pro-time machine use, SQ/IM injections, lab draws/venipuncture, IV skills, and PICC line or midline care and dressing changes
• High-acuity diagnoses include Heart Failure, COPD, MI, Pneumonia, Stroke, and general medical and post-op cases
• Caseload of 6–8 home visits per day
• Shift hours vary based on office needs: Mon–Fri 8a–5p or 9a–6p, or Thurs–Mon / Fri–Tues rotations
• Alternating weekend shifts required
• Visits are self-scheduled based on the needs of the HomeCare office
• Charting via BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, and Ace Timesheet documentation system
• Field equipment includes a laptop, MiFi internet device, and portable printer

Requirements

• Active FL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of skilled home health experience required; private duty nursing experience alone will not be accepted
• OASIS training and hands-on experience required
• Proficiency in IV therapy, wound care, and venipuncture required
• Experience with high-risk diagnoses including HF, COPD, MI, Pneumonia, and Stroke
• Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle required for home visits
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption form required
• Flu shot or signed declination required (mask required at all times while on assignment if declining)
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• State Board of Nursing License Verification and NURSYS Verification required for consideration

• Perform skilled home visits across a diverse patient population with cardiopulmonary, wound care, medication management, and post-operative needs
• Scrubs: any solid color accepted
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
• 20-week contract
