American Traveler is hiring a Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) Certified Surgical First Assistant RN for a 13-week travel contract requiring independent vein harvesting and CVOR experience, with significant call and weekend requirements.

Details

• Hospital-based CVOR setting focused on cardiac surgical cases
• Either an 8-hour day shift (7:00 AM–3:30 PM) or 10-hour day shift (7:00 AM–5:30 PM) schedule, 40 hours per week
• Call requirement of 12–18 days per month
• Weekend requirement of 2–3 weekends per month
• Float coverage required to general surgical service areas when cardiac cases are not scheduled, including ortho, vascular, GYN, thoracic, and general surgeries

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• CVOR experience required with demonstrated ability to work independently
• Must be proficient in endoscopic vein harvesting
• Scrub skills required
• 5 years of experience strongly preferred
• Previous travel experience strongly preferred
• Either STFA or RNFA credentials accepted

Additional Information

• Candidate must demonstrate proficiency ratings of 3s or 4s in vein harvesting and cardiac areas
• RNFA candidates will be considered at a different pay rate
• First assistants will scrub and assist across multiple surgical service lines when not performing cardiac cases
