American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Alaska, requiring a minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience and an active AK RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in an OB/Labor & Delivery unit
• Unit consists of 4 LDRP rooms and 5 Nursery/Postpartum rooms
• Nurse-to-patient ratios follow national standards based on type of labor and individual patient needs
• 12-hour night shifts
• EMR system is Epic; Pyxis used for medication dispensing
• Additional equipment includes Meditech, OBIX, and bedside fetal monitors
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Alaska (AK) RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, S.T.A.B.L.E., and HS AED
• COVID vaccine or signed declination form required for employment eligibility; unvaccinated staff must wear masks

Additional Information

• Provides individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process and principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental policies and standards of practice
• Orientation includes 3-day Meditech and OBIX training plus unit-specific orientation
• Medication competency testing must be completed on-site within the first two weeks
• Pre-employment modules must be completed prior to start
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
