American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular OR Tech (CVOR) for a 13-week acute care assignment at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring CABG and valve replacement proficiency and on-call availability.

Details

• Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) in an acute care, Level I Trauma Center setting
• Cardiac, thoracic, and vascular patient population
• Primary shift is 5x8-hour days, Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM; alternate schedule option of 4x10-hour shifts, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
• On-call coverage required on weekdays (Monday–Thursday) and weekends; weekday call is typically one shift if on weekend call, or two shifts if not
• Weekend on-call runs Friday at 3:00 PM through Monday at 6:30 AM — no scheduled weekend shifts, call only
• Holiday on-call coverage required when applicable
• Epic EMR is in use; Epic experience within the last 6 months is noted for orientation planning purposes

Requirements

• Active NE or Compact (NLC) state license, must be active — pending licenses not accepted
• BLS certification required — active, not pending
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR tech experience required
• Proficiency in Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) and valve replacement procedures required
• Experience in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures required
• CST credential or military surgical tech training accepted
• Driver's license required for consideration and used to verify permanent address for radius eligibility
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (permanent address verified via driver's license)

Additional Information

• Perform scrub and/or circulating tech duties for cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgical cases including CABG and valve replacement
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year; candidates previously placed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to remove artificial nails will result to contract termination
• RTO must be disclosed upfront; no more than 7 days of time off permitted per 13-week contract
• Orientation is 12 hours
