American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position at an acute care hospital in Columbia, SC, requiring Epic proficiency and active ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Details

• Work setting is an acute care hospital PACU in an inpatient surgical environment
• Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:30am–6:00pm
• One late shift per week is required, where the nurse remains on the unit as the second nurse until the last OR case is completed and recovered
• Patient ratio is 1:2
• On-call is required: 1 call night per week and 1 call weekend every 6 weeks
• Weekend requirement applies to call shifts only
• No floating required
• Charting is done in Epic; prior Epic experience is required

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or multi-state/compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be licensed prior to start
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of PACU RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Critical care training preferred
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Former permanent or PRN MUSC staff must have been separated from the MUSC system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, but local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and is subject to facility approval
• Orientation modules are completed prior to the assignment start date
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Parking is available at no cost with a parking pass distributed at badge pickup; garage clearance is limited to average-sized SUVs and trucks
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
