Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with no first-time travelers considered.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Specialized care for patients with rehabilitation needs, including CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, and generalized debility (post-stroke, aneurysm, and post-op surgical patients)
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Schedule: Night shifts, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Every 3rd weekend required; holiday coverage as needed
• Floating required — travelers may be floated between all system campuses as needed
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Acute care rehab experience preferred
• Skills required include: interpretation of laboratory results, medication reconciliation, patient health questionnaire/history/allergies, vital signs (BP, respirations, temperature, pulse), dressing changes, setup of aseptic/sterile procedure trays, capillary blood draws, specimen labeling, throat and urine (UA clean catch) collection, phlebotomy, telephone triage, and pharmacy/patient refill request management
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• All RNs must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance — two attempts are allowed; study materials will not be provided by the facility, so candidates should prepare in advance
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rates
• Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
