American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Psychiatric Emergency Services position in Montana, requiring an active MT or compact RN license and the ability to work primarily night shifts across a 13-week contract.

Details

• Psychiatric Emergency Services unit serving adolescent, adult, geriatric, and pediatric behavioral health patients
• Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts, variable but primarily nights, with both weekday and weekend shifts required
• On-call availability may be required to respond to patient and organizational needs
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MT RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Competence and ability to practice modified primary nursing
• 1 year of behavioral health nursing experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs, including patient transfers and physical restraint
• Ability to work extended shifts of 8 or more hours and a flexible schedule including weekends

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, diagnosis, individualized care planning, implementation of care, and ongoing evaluation
• Collaborates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver safe, evidence-based care
• Must demonstrate strong emotional intelligence, de-escalation skills, and the ability to handle challenging or distressing patient situations
• Job tasks may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, chemicals, radiation, and emotionally challenging situations
• Candidates must reside at least 90 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
