American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a 13-week night shift contract in Rio Rancho, NM, requiring prior travel experience and large ED background.

Details

• Emergency Department (ED) setting at a hospital in Rio Rancho, NM
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:45 PM – 7:15 AM, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
• 13-week contract
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
• Epic EMR experience preferred but not required; on-site training available

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• Minimum ADN or ASN degree required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS — BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be issued by the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a large ED required
• Must have completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment
• Must successfully pass an on-site Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test prior to starting the assignment (one retest opportunity allowed; failure to pass results in termination)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient care for an assigned group of patients per shift
• Coordinates care through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols and documents per policy
• Identifies and addresses patient and family education and discharge needs throughout the episode of care
• Provides clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• BCA testing is conducted on-site on the first day of orientation
• Former Presbyterian Health Services (PHS) employees or travelers must have a minimum 1-year gap before being considered for this position
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
