American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Step-Down position requiring at least one year of experience, Med/Surg and Step-Down backgrounds, and travel nursing experience at a Level 1 facility.

Details

• Hospital-based Med Specialty Step-Down unit
• Patient population ranges from simple to complex medical conditions
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Med/Surg and Step-Down experience required; ICU experience preferred
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (OK state license or eNLC compact license) required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Med/Surg and Step-Down experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required, specifically at a Level 1 facility
• ICU experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient caseload, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and coordinating discharge planning with patients and families
• Collaborates with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after completing 26 weeks (one contract plus one extension) before being eligible to apply again
• Compliance requirements are strictly enforced — onboarding documents, drug screens, and background checks must be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance
• First-time travelers are not specified as eligible; prior travel experience is required
