American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiology/Pulmonary Med-Surg unit in Urbana, IL, requiring at least one year of nursing experience, Epic proficiency, and Level 1 Trauma background.

Details

• Inpatient cardiology and pulmonary Med-Surg unit (CT8) in a hospital setting
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• 6 weekend shifts per six-week schedule required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Float to similar units as needed
• No on-call requirements
• EMR: Epic (experience required)

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
• Level 1 Trauma facility experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Additional Information

• Manage care of acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
• Responsibilities include patient assessment and care planning, medication administration, IV venipuncture, blood administration, lab monitoring, pain management, and patient discharge education
• Collaborate with patients and families to identify goals of care and maintain individualized care plans
• Participate in team huddles and maintain professional communication across the care team
• Delegate tasks with appropriate follow-up and ensure basic standards of care are met
• Document all care in Epic EMR
• RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Travelers who have been on continuous assignment with this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
