American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Mixed Acuity PCU position at a short-term acute care hospital in Indiana, requiring solid neuro experience and Cerner proficiency.

Details

• Mixed acuity Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a 194-bed short-term acute care hospital
• Unit serves both medical-surgical and progressive care patients, with specialties including oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary
• MS patients are assigned at a 1:5–6 ratio; PCU patients at a 1:3–4 ratio
• Drip management includes Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Insulin drips
• Patients include unstable strokes and those requiring BiPAP support
• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
• 4x12-hour shift schedule may also be available
• Charting via Cerner (experience required)
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital

Requirements

• Active Indiana (IN) RN license or valid Compact RN license required; IN temporary license accepted if in hand prior to start
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or RQI), ACLS (AHA or RQI), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 18 months to 2 years of RN experience required
• Solid neuro nursing experience required
• Background in MS/Tele or PCU nursing accepted
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program required

• Former permanent or PRN employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Indiana-licensed RNs are generally not permitted to work at IU Health facilities in non-exempt roles; this PCU position is subject to that restriction — confirm eligibility prior to submission
