American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics position in Urbana, IL requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and Epic proficiency on a night shift schedule.

Details

• Inpatient orthopedic and medical/surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for orthopedic and general medical/surgical patient populations
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week on a 3x12 schedule
• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Rotating holiday shifts required
• Float to similar units as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing required (temporary license accepted)
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
• Current Level 1 Trauma facility experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with drain management, wound VAC, pouch management, and urological devices required
• Experience with ortho traction setup and surgical traction device manipulation required
• ASN required; BSN preferred

Additional Information

• Assess orthopedic and medical/surgical patients each shift and develop individualized plans of care
• Educate patients on wound care, mobility, self-care, medication management, and care transition needs
• Coordinate with physician and surgeon partners on patient care and delegate interventions to HCT staff
• Manage wound appliances including wound VACs, drains, pouches, and urological devices
• Set up ortho traction and manipulate surgical traction devices for mobility and wound care
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation to support the healthcare team
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Contingent workers may not remain on assignment for more than 1 year continuously at this health system; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any location within the system
