American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Adult Psychiatric position at a Maine hospital, requiring at least 1 year of nursing experience and CPI training for night shifts on an inpatient behavioral unit.

Details

• Inpatient adolescent behavioral health unit serving patients ages 6–18
• Primary diagnoses include major depression and ADD/ADHD
• Schedule: 3x 12-hour night shifts per week
• Floating to Chemical Dependency/Detox unit required

Requirements

• Active Maine RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required; 1–3 years of adult psychiatric nursing experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to set firm professional boundaries and manage stressful situations effectively
• Clean background and license history required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include medication administration and patient education, daily clinical documentation, behavior monitoring and management across the unit, and participation in and facilitation of group education sessions
• Works alongside an interdisciplinary care team to deliver day-to-day patient care
• Maine residents must reside outside of a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
