American Traveler is seeking an experienced Home Health RN for a 13-week field nursing position in San Antonio, TX, requiring a minimum of 2 years of home health experience and a valid TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Field-based home health setting serving patients within an assigned geographic territory
• Patient population includes general home health, wound care, and geriatric home health patients
• Caseload is measured by points per week, with an expected 25–30 points per week
• Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
• No weekend requirements
• On-call may be required at the discretion of the center
• Charting system: Kinnser/WellSky — all charting must be completed on-site and cannot be taken home
• Mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate from first patient to last patient visit (excludes home-to-first and last-to-home travel)

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2–3 years of home health nursing experience required
• At least 1 year of clinical management experience required
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Demonstrated clinical decision-making ability
• Hepatitis profile required if conducting patient visits
• Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained
• All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration — no additional RTO will be accepted after an offer is made

• Provides skilled nursing visits to home health patients in an assigned area, including wound care and geriatric care
• Position is ideally suited for a candidate open to a temp-to-hire arrangement

• Local candidates are accepted; candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
• Any color scrubs with closed-toe shoes required
