Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring 2+ years of dedicated Cardiac ICU experience and proficiency with advanced cardiac support technologies including VV/VA ECMO and Impella.

Details

• Hospital CVICU setting with 24 beds
• Patient population includes post-op CABG, heart and lung transplant, cardiogenic shock, advanced HF management, cardiac arrhythmias, lysis, post-IR/PCI procedures, and TEVAR
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 in the CVICU; 1:3 in Stepdown
• Day/Night rotation, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required for one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's), including the day before, day of, and day after
• Primary floating between CICU and CVICU, with first-float responsibility to other ICUs including Stepdown/Progressive Care/IMC/Tele Units as needed
• EMR: Epic
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active VA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of recent, dedicated Cardiac ICU/CCU/CVICU experience required; must have worked in a dedicated CVICU or CICU
• Recent demonstrated competency with VV/VA ECMO, IABP, TTM/Arctic Sun, Impella, CRRT, and PA Catheter Guided Therapy required
• Strong experience with all advanced cardiac support modalities required
• Ability to read and interpret EKG rhythm strips
• Experience managing and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips

• Floor orientation consists of 2 shifts
• Scrub requirement: Navy blue pants with solid navy blue or solid white tops; jackets must be solid navy blue or solid white
