American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long-Term Acute Care (LTACH) position in Kentucky, requiring at least 2 years of LTACH experience, prior travel nursing experience, and an active KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) setting with MS, MS/Tele, PCU, and ICU units
• Patient population includes complex medical cases across MS, telemetry, PCU, and ICU levels of care
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Alternating schedule of 3x12-hour shifts one week and 4x12-hour shifts the next (84 hours per two-week pay period)
• Day shift hours: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Meditech EMR (preferred)

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration — no exceptions
• Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of LTACH experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• MS, telemetry, or ICU background required
• Driver's license required, with address matching permanent address on file
• Two professional references required: one charge nurse or higher and one supervisor, both completed within the last year
• Social Security Number (SSN) and date of birth (DOB) required for consideration
• Middle name confirmation required (or confirmation that no middle name exists)
• Copies of all certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Clinical skills utilized include medication management (antiarrhythmics, anticoagulants, vasopressors, insulin drips), ventilator management, tracheostomy care, arterial and central line management, complex wound care, cardiac monitoring, and stroke scale assessment
• Experience with a broad range of conditions including ARDS, CHF, CVA, TBI, GI bleed, renal failure, and pulmonary embolism is beneficial
• Orientation is conducted bi-weekly
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be considered, but all RTO must be submitted upfront — no changes will be accepted after submission
• Candidates must work at least one major or one minor holiday during the assignment
• Travelers who have worked within the ARH system for one year must take a minimum 6-month break before being eligible to return
• Travel pairs are accepted on a limited basis; paired travelers will not be placed on the same shift or unit
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
