American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiology (Prep & Recovery) position requiring 2+ years of pediatric ICU or procedural care experience and active SC licensure.

• Position is based in a pediatric cardiology unit within a children's hospital setting
• Role involves pre- and post-anesthesia care for cardiovascular, EP, and interventional Cath procedures, as well as sedated studies, clinic visits, and cardiac surgical workups
• Patient population ranges from neonates to geriatric congenital cardiac patients
• Minimum of 2–3 patient visits per day
• Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM; staff remain until the last patient is discharged or admitted
• No weekend requirements
• No on-call requirements
• No floating within the facility or to sister facilities
• Scheduling is self-scheduling with the team; requires a minimum of 2 Monday and 2 Friday shifts per month
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active SC RN license required and must be in hand prior to start — pending licenses will not be accepted
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; pediatric ICU, stepdown (preferably cardiac), or procedural care experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of normal and abnormal cardiovascular anatomy and physiology required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience in an academic teaching hospital preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Candidates must provide 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years
• Driver's license required for consideration
• SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides pre- and post-anesthesia nursing care for pediatric and congenital cardiac patients undergoing cardiovascular, EP, and interventional procedures
• Strong cardiovascular assessment and arrhythmia interpretation skills are integral to this role
• Reports to the Pediatric Interventional Cardiology and Imaging Manager
• Orientation modules are completed prior to start and average approximately 4 hours
• Candidates who have previously worked as permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• This facility is located in a hurricane-prone region; all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November, with peak activity in August and September)
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to acceptance; RTO requests submitted after that point will not be approved
