American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown position in a Thoracic, Cardiac, and Vascular (TCV) surgical unit, requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.

Details

• Work in a 28-bed acute and intermediate care unit specializing in Thoracic, Cardiac, and Vascular (TCV) surgical patients, including 22 acute-care beds and a 6-bed Thoracic Intermediate Care Unit (TIMU)
• Patient population includes post-operative CABG, cardiac valve repair/replacement, AAA repair, lung resection, esophagectomy, heart and lung transplant, limb amputation, femoral popliteal bypass, and carotid endarterectomy cases
• TIMU patients include fresh lobectomies, patients receiving thrombolytic TPA, AAA, CABG/valve, and lung transplants, with some direct admits from PACU or step-downs from the CVICU
• TIMU can accommodate patients on select cardiac drips and arterial lines
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 4–5:1 in acute care and 3:1 in TIMU
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Epic EMR experience required
• Floating required in accordance with facility float policy

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license required; pending VA license will be accepted
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Driver's license and Social Security card copies required for consideration

Additional Information

• 13-week contract
• Up to 40 hours of RTO available per contract
• No radius rule — local candidates are welcome to apply
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have a 12-month gap before returning
