American Traveler is seeking an experienced Adult Psychiatric RN for a 13-week travel contract on a 30-bed inpatient adult psych unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of inpatient adult psych experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

• Inpatient adult psychiatric unit (Epstein 5) within a hospital setting
• 30-bed unit serving adults ages 18–65 with diverse mental health diagnoses including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and dual diagnosis patients
• Medically acute patients also present on the unit, including those requiring IVs, CPAPs, wound care, and diabetic care
• RN-to-patient ratio of 1:7 or 1:8
• Rotating shifts required: 7a–7p, 11a–11p, and 7p–7a (Day Rotate position)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• 36 hours per week
• Floating required
• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient adult psych RN experience required
• Proficiency with OmniCell automated medication dispensing system
• Proficiency with psychotropic medications and their side effects
• Ability to function as charge nurse and independently manage admissions and discharges
• Competency with IV pumps and diabetic patient care
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted

• Provides psychiatric nursing care to adult patients (ages 18–65) with a broad range of mental health and co-occurring medical needs
• Candidates with a permanent residence within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are considered local candidates
