American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a 6th floor unit, requiring Epic proficiency, neurology/stroke experience, and a valid VA or Compact RN license.

Details

• Position is located on the 6S Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital in Chesapeake, VA — minutes from Virginia Beach and Norfolk
• Patient population includes medical/surgical and telemetry patients, with neurology and stroke cases
• Patient ratio is 1:7
• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Schedule is 3x12 or 4x12 hours per week — candidate preference will be noted
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating is required
• Holiday coverage required within the contract period
• Epic EMR — proficiency is required, no exceptions
• 13-week contract with possible extension

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through American Heart Association required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, travel nursing experience required
• Prior experience with neurology and stroke patients required
• IV start and telemetry interpretation skills required
• Epic EMR proficiency required — no exceptions
• Clean license and background history required — any prior hits will disqualify candidacy
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to med/surg telemetry patients, including neurology and stroke populations
• Candidate must indicate shift preference (3x12 or 4x12) prior to submission
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront at the time of consideration
• This position is not open to first-time travelers — prior travel experience is required
