American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Correctional/Addictions Medicine position at a detention center in Albuquerque, NM, requiring BLS, ACLS, and MOAB certification with at least 1 year of nursing experience.

Details

• Work setting is a detention center correctional facility in Albuquerque, NM
• Primary assignment is within the Addictions Medicine department, with expectation to learn all posts within the correctional setting
• Patient population includes those with opioid use disorder (OUD), alcohol use disorder (ETOH), and poly-substance use
• Responsibilities include substance withdrawal assessments and treatments, Suboxone inductions, Suboxone and Methadone medication administration, and patient monitoring during induction
• Schedule is days, 4x12-hour shifts (6:00–18:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Charting is done in Cerner
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and MOAB (facility will provide MOAB training if not already held — candidates must pass a 4-hour de-escalation course during the first week)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Must be able to pass a facility background check
• COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with a completed exemption form signed by a provider
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply; prior relevant experience is preferred
• Black scrubs required
• RTO requests exceeding 7 days require prior approval
• No parking fee at the facility
• A 6-month break is required for travelers who have completed 4 consecutive assignments or reached the 1-year mark at this facility, whichever comes first
• New contracts and extensions must be a minimum of 10 weeks
