Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Float Pool position requiring a current NY RN license, ACLS, and at least one prior completed travel assignment.

Details

• 13-week contract with 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Three shifts per week, totaling 36 hours weekly
• Float position covering Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, ED, and Pediatrics units
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• Telemetry and coronary care patient population
• Charting performed using MEDITECH
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active NY RN license currently in hand (required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• At least one successfully completed travel assignment required — first-time travelers will not be considered
• Coronary care experience required
• Comfortable floating to Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, ED, and Pediatric units
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Previous hospital RN experience preferred
• MEDITECH experience preferred
• Ability to safely assess and implement patient mobility and lift techniques
• Strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills

Additional Information

• Candidate must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted
• May be required to assume charge nurse duties
• Must be able to perform effectively in high-stress situations and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills
• Two references from a Charge RN, Supervisor, or Manager are required for consideration — references must be from within the past year and within the same specialty
