American Traveler is seeking a licensed RN for an Acute Dialysis travel position working 12-hour day shifts on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule, requiring a minimum of 9 months of clinical nursing experience with dialysis exposure.

Details

• Acute dialysis unit in a hospital setting
• Hemodialysis patient population
• Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts per week — Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 3:00 AM–3:30 PM
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required
• Minimum of 9 months of clinical nursing experience required
• At least 3 months of specialized dialysis care experience in a chronic or acute setting required (may be completed during orientation)
• Two-year nursing degree required; four-year degree preferred
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessment of hemodialysis patients and development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans
• Administers, monitors, and documents therapeutic interventions and treatment regimens
• Manages rapidly changing patient conditions, including delegating care to other department members
• Assists providers with patient-related needs before, during, and after hemodialysis treatments
• Coordinates triage and arrangement of additional care at outside facilities as needed
• Obtains lab specimens and performs lab competencies and quality controls on a regular basis
• Educates patients and family members on disease processes, individual care needs, and safety
• Participates in daily huddles and monthly meetings, contributing to clinical decision-making
