American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric OR position requiring 2+ years of acute OR experience, with preference for candidates who also have pediatric experience.

Details

• Work setting is a children's hospital Operating Room
• Pediatric patient population ranging from neonates to 18 years old, including adult-sized pediatric patients, with diagnoses spanning neurosurgery, spine, urology, GYN, ortho, oncology, ENT, general surgery, and pediatric trauma (MVAs, GSWs, shaken baby)
• May also care for patients with developmental delays and/or congenital anomalies
• Floating may include: assisting in the PICU with procedures, NICU cases at a connected campus facility, and assisting anesthesia with procedures in MRI or IR settings
• Schedule is 8-hour day shifts (0645–1515)
• Weekend shifts are uncommon but may be assigned if regular weekend staff are unavailable
• On-call is required: approximately 2 weeknights (1900–0700) and 1 weekend (Friday 1900–Monday 0700) every 6 weeks, with a 30-minute response time required

Requirements

• Active WA State or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required; CNOR preferred
• Minimum 2+ years of acute OR experience required; candidates with only 2 years must demonstrate high-level experience
• Combined adult and pediatric OR experience is acceptable
• Highly preferred skills include: IV starts, scrub experience, robotics (Da Vinci XI), high-level neuro cases, ophthalmology, and dental cases
• Experience circulating a broad range of OR case types strongly preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Two references from a supervisor or above (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or equivalent) required prior to start; one reference may be submitted for initial consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing a wide variety of pediatric surgical cases including neurosurgery, spine, urology, GYN, ortho, oncology, ENT, general surgery, ophthalmology, dental, and robotic-assisted procedures
• Candidates with missing highly preferred skills (robotics, high-level neuro, ophthalmology, dental) may still be considered with manager approval
• First-time travelers are generally not accepted unless the candidate has 5+ years of extensive OR and pediatric experience
• Candidates will undergo a SimpliFi clinical interview followed by a unit final review
