American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position at a Level 1 trauma teaching hospital in Indiana, requiring a minimum of 18 months of neuro critical care experience and NIHSS certification in hand.

Details

• Neuro critical care unit (NCC) within a Level 1 trauma academic teaching hospital
• Unit also cares for medical, surgical, and trauma ICU patients
• Patient ratio of 1:2–3
• Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Must be available to work 50% of weekends during the contract
• Floating may be required to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) at both hospital campuses
• Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)

Requirements

• Active Indiana or Compact RN license in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS — all must be AHA or RQI and current
• Minimum 18 months to 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, ICP monitoring, and IV starts
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program required
• Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before being considered

Additional Information

• This is an academic teaching facility — all travel nurses must be willing to precept and/or have students shadow them during their assignment
• Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned based on operational needs; training and resources will be provided
• If a contracted shift is missed, it must be made up within the pay period or will be added to the end of the contract
• Candidates must be prepared to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of RTO can be auto-approved
