American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-volume Adult Emergency Department with a minimum of 3 years of ER experience, including travel experience at a Level 1 or 2 trauma facility.

• Adult Emergency Department at a highly rated academic medical center
• One of the highest-volume Emergency Departments in the country
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• Variable days of the week with no block scheduling
• Weekends and holidays required
• Floating required — flexibility is essential for this position
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC
• TNCC preferred but not required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an ER RN
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Most recent 12 months of experience must be at an academic medical institution or a Level 1 or 2 trauma facility in a major metropolitan area
• Recent Epic EMR experience required
• At least 1 professional reference dated within the last 12 months
• No unexplained employment gaps exceeding 30 days

Additional Information

• All new RN hires must pass a specialty knowledge exam and an EKG exam, each with a minimum score of 80% — 100% of lethal rhythms must be identified correctly regardless of overall EKG score
• Candidates who do not meet the EKG passing threshold will undergo extended remedial training beyond Day 2 of orientation — reviewing rhythms in the week prior to start is strongly recommended
• A unit manager interview is required
• Unplanned time off (UTO) may result in contract cancellation, as missed shifts cannot be made up under contract terms
• No RTO during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 10 days of RTO for a 13-week contract
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted
