Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) position at a children's hospital in Newark, NJ, requiring 3+ years of PICU critical care experience and proficiency with vents, trachs, and Medtronic pacemakers on night shifts.

Details

• Work in a 19-bed PICU within a children's hospital setting
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required
• Patient ratio of 1:2 or more
• Floating to Pediatrics and NICU may be required based on skill set and hospital needs
• Charting system: Epic (experience required)
• Medtronic pacemakers and telemetry monitoring required
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, mechanical ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomies required

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS and PALS required; NRP preferred
• Minimum 3 years of PICU critical care experience required
• 1 year of cardiac experience strongly preferred; both PICU and cardiac experience must be documented on the skills checklist
• Proficiency with Medtronic pacemakers and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, mechanical ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Two current professional references required
• Copy of certifications required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
• Local candidates are accepted
• Navy blue scrubs required
