Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position at an acute care facility in California, requiring a valid CA RN license and on-call availability including evenings and weekends.

Details

• Acute care hospital GI/Endoscopy unit
• Procedures performed include EGD, colonoscopy, biopsy, ERCP, sigmoidoscopy, control of bleeding, and PEG placement
• Charting is performed using Cerner EMR
• 8-hour day shifts, with variable hours between 7am–5pm
• On-call required on weekdays, weekends, and holidays; call hours are 3pm–11pm and 11pm–7am, with approximately 1–2 weekday call shifts and a minimum of 1 weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• Every other weekend (EOW) requirement
• Floating may be required to Short Stay unit, with travelers given first priority to float
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS — pending certifications not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• GI/Endoscopy experience required
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• No charge nurse responsibilities for this role
• Orientation is provided (12 hours)
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
