American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position at an acute care facility in Nebraska, requiring at least 2 years of hospital Med/Surg experience and a Nebraska or compact RN license.

Details

• 32-bed acute care facility where Med/Surg, PCU, and ICU patients are all housed in the same unit area
• Med/Surg patient population including total joint replacement and abdominal surgical procedure patients
• Wound VAC equipment is utilized on the unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 for Med/Surg and 1:4 for PCU
• 12-hour night shifts: 6:45 PM–7:15 AM or 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
• Schedule is 4x12-hour shifts per week
• May float to the PCU if comfortable and qualified

Requirements

• Active Nebraska or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Minimum 2 years of hospital Med/Surg experience required
• Experience with total joint replacements required
• Experience with abdominal surgical procedures required
• 2 professional references required for consideration: 1 from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 from a peer or supervisor in the specialty within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, therapeutic interventions, patient and family education, and facilitating transitions to the next level of care
• Care is provided in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team
• Orientation consists of a 4-hour general traveler orientation, a shadowing shift, and 1 supervised shift with floor staff before independent practice begins
• Scrub color requirement: Pewter Grey or Light Turquoise
• This is a newer facility, having been open for approximately 2 years
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
