American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position at an acute care hospital in Orangeburg, SC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of MS/Tele experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• 13-week travel contract at an acute care hospital (286 staffed beds) in Orangeburg, SC
• Med/Surg Telemetry unit — a newly built unit currently operating with 10 beds
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Every other weekend is required and non-negotiable
• Bedside monitoring with telemetry, BP, and pulse ox capabilities
• Charge coverage is shared between the stepdown and 3 West units
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs
• Charting via Epic
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias required
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• Community hospital experience is preferred
• Epic EMR experience is preferred
• Pre-start orientation modules are required and completed before the assignment begins
• No off-shift management is scheduled on-site, but leadership is reachable by phone during off-hours; a house supervisor is available 24/7

• Candidates who have previously worked as permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; approval is based on facility needs
• Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are accepted; non-local candidates are prioritized
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties — peak activity months are August and September
