American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Behavioral Health (Geriatric Psychiatric) unit position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and MOAB certification, with night shifts and every other weekend availability.

Details

• Inpatient Behavioral Health unit in a hospital setting
• Geriatric psychiatric patient population with diagnoses including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depression
• Experience required with bipolar disorders, depressive disorders, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, and degenerative disorders (Alzheimer's, ALS, Parkinson's)
• Patient ratio of 1:8 with an average daily census of 15 patients across 14–20 beds
• 12-hour night shifts, 18:45–07:15
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• No on-call requirements
• Scheduled per unit needs
• EMR: Epic; also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication framework

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Geriatric behavioral health experience is required
• Inpatient psychiatric setting experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred

• Unit orientation is 24 hours on the unit
• Scrub color requirement: solid navy blue or white
• RTO is not permitted after booking and cannot be arranged on-site — excessive call-offs or RTO may result in contract cancellation
• Up to 7 days of RTO maximum for auto-offer positions
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
• Contracts longer than 13 weeks may be available for interested candidates
