American Traveler is seeking an experienced Inpatient Rehab RN for a 13-week day shift contract in Macon, GA, requiring at least 2 years of inpatient rehab or med/surg experience and an active GA or compact RN license.

• 58-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital located approximately 5-6 miles from the main hospital campus
• 25-bed rehab unit with a typical census of 20-25 patients
• Patient population includes neuro, traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury, CVA, aneurysm, post-craniotomy, brain bleeds, and patients with PEG tubes and tracheostomies
• Tracheostomy patients are mostly capped; respiratory therapy (RT) is available 24/7
• Patient ratios: RN/LPN 1:5-7 with 1-3 CNAs per shift
• No IV drips administered on this unit
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 36 hours per week
• Floating between Rehab Units 1 and 2
• Weekend rotation: approximately 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• No on-call requirements
• EMR: Epic
• IV pumps: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis; monitors: Philips

Requirements

• Active RN license in Georgia (GA) or a compact license currently in hand
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient rehab or med/surg experience required; inpatient rehab knowledge strongly preferred
• Experience with wound care, dressing changes, wound vacs, drains, peripheral IV starts and maintenance, ostomy care, IV antibiotics, PEG tube maintenance, tube feeds, established trach care, and brace/splint management
• 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required for consideration
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

• Local candidates are accepted; no radius rule applies — the same rate applies to local travelers in Georgia
• CNA support available for vital signs, glucose checks, bathing, feeding, ambulation, turning, and patient transport; a dedicated hospital transport team is also available
• Additional unit support includes a unit secretary, charge RN, phlebotomy, and a hospitalist on-site during the day and on call at night
• Holiday coverage required: one shift each for Thanksgiving Day or the day after, 12/24 or 12/25, and 12/31 or 1/1
• Time off requests must be approved by the unit manager
• Orientation consists of 1 day of general facility orientation with educational modules followed by 2 days of departmental orientation
• RNs are required to wear navy scrubs
