American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical Specialty/Transplant unit with required acute care surgical floor experience and stepdown/PCU experience preferred.

Details

• Hospital med/surg and stepdown (PCU) unit environment
• Specialized unit caring for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients, as well as pre-transplant patients undergoing inpatient evaluation
• Patients require close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery
• Nurses may be assigned to either the med/surg or stepdown side of the unit depending on staffing and acuity
• ICU nurses may be floated to the unit to cover stepdown patients when staffing requires
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts

Requirements

• Active RN license (OK State Board of Nursing or eNLC compact license) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care surgical floor experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• OR (operating room) candidates will not be accepted

Additional Information

• ENT and/or transplant experience is preferred
• Preceptor and charge nurse experience preferred
• Provides nursing care to a diverse surgical patient population with conditions ranging from simple to complex
• Responsibilities include medication administration, IV management, blood product monitoring, patient and family education, and delegation to support staff
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may extend one time for a total of 26 weeks; after 26 weeks, a 6-month separation period is required before reapplying
