American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Advanced Care (Intermediate Care/PCU) position in Illinois, requiring Epic EMR experience and a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience on nights.

Details

• Advanced Care unit setting, working with both step-down/intermediate care patients and EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit) patients
• Collaborates with critical care team and hospitalists to support Advanced Care patients
• EMU patient monitoring for seizure activity on a 24/7 basis
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• Epic EMR required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing required; temp license accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) required
• Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• PCU, step-down, or intermediate care experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred

Additional Information

• Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care upon admission
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation to support continuity of care across the healthcare team
• Utilize meaningful hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and whiteboards to ensure effective communication with patients and families
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO may not exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Travelers who have been on continuous assignment for 1 year at this health system must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
