American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Advanced Care (Intermediate Care/Step-Down) position requiring Epic EMR experience and Level 1 Trauma background, working night shifts at a hospital in Illinois.

Details

• Advanced Care (Intermediate/Step-Down) unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Works with a critical care team for Advanced Care patients and with hospitalists for patient management
• Includes monitoring of EMU patients 24/7 for seizure activity
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week (three 12-hour shifts)
• Epic EMR used; experience is required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing required; temporary license accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
• PCU, Step-Down, or Intermediate Care experience required
• Level 1 Trauma facility experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Additional Information

• Performs initial patient assessments, develops and implements individualized plans of care, and modifies plans based on continuous evaluation
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation to support the broader healthcare team
• Engages in meaningful hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and whiteboard communication to keep patients and families informed
• Supports a culture of safety by identifying, reporting, and correcting safety hazards and incidents
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract
• Travelers who have been on assignment at this health system for 1 continuous year must either convert to permanent employment or take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
