American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Med/Surg position requiring a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, Epic proficiency, and an Illinois RN license.

• Inpatient Neuro Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
• Neurological patient population including those with mild to severe brain injury due to stroke, trauma, or surgery
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts
• Epic EMR required
• Level 1 Trauma facility experience required

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Provides competent care for patients experiencing neurological conditions including stroke, brain injury, and post-surgical recovery; must be able to identify and respond promptly to neurological changes and seizure activity
• Responsibilities include patient assessment, care plan development and modification, medication administration using the 5 Rights, hourly rounding, and patient education
• Delegates tasks to healthcare technicians and validates completion throughout the shift
• Maintains compliance with safety protocols including fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, and isolation precautions
• RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Travelers who have been on assignment at this health system for 1 continuous year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
