American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position in West Des Moines, IA, requiring prior travel experience and a full suite of L&D certifications.

Details

• 24-bed L&D unit with 2 ORs
• Patient population includes C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and triage
• Patient ratio of 1:3–4 couplets
• Common drips include magnesium, insulin, and Pitocin
• EMR: Epic
• Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 hrs/week
• Every 3rd weekend required, including holiday rotation if scheduled
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required across campuses (Iowa Methodist MC and Iowa Lutheran) to Mother-Baby or L&D units
• Hospital-provided scrubs

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC required
• Current ACLS certification from AHA required
• Current NRP certification required
• Current AWHONN certification required
• Experience in Labor & Delivery including C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and triage required
• Experience in postpartum/mother-baby care required
• Must have completed at least one travel assignment within the previous 12 months — first-time travelers will not be considered
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Supervisory performance evaluation or professional reference from within the past 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Candidates who have been employed by this health system (as FTE or PRN float pool staff) within the past 12 months are not eligible for this position
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility may be subject to a bill rate adjustment
• Holiday rotation is included when scheduled — travelers are expected to cover assigned holidays
