American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-acuity Medical ICU position at a Level II Trauma Center in Everett, WA, requiring Epic proficiency and at least 2 years of MICU experience.

Details

• Work in a high-acuity, fast-paced MICU at a Level II Trauma Center with 571 total staffed beds across both campuses
• Patient population includes medically complex, critically ill patients with conditions such as respiratory failure, ARDS, MSOF, various shock states, cardiac arrest with TTM, CVA post-tPA, DKA, and ETOH withdrawal
• Standard nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1, with potential increase to 4:1 when boarding patients awaiting inpatient transfer
• Frequent procedures include bedside central and arterial line placements, chest tube placement, rapid sequence intubation, para/thoracentesis, and code blue response
• One CNA per shift is available for support
• Charting is performed in Epic (experience required)
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• Weekend shifts are required
• Floating to telemetry units is possible but expected to be rare due to full staffing on most units; travelers must be prepared to float between all facilities within Washington State

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of MICU or critical care RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• First-time travelers considered with 2–3 years of relevant experience
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment total within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position

Additional Information

• Scrub color is open/any color; reddish-orange scrubs are not permitted
• Parking is facility paid
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Up to 2 RTO requests may be pre-approved; all RTO must be disclosed at time of submission — requests made after submission or offer may be denied
• Refusal to float when required may result in assignment termination
