American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a CVOR position at a large Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center, requiring the ability to independently scrub and circulate for cardiac surgery.

Details

• Work setting is a short-term acute care hospital with 1,567 staffed beds at a Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center
• Assignment is in the Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) unit
• Average patient ratio of 1:2
• Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00–19:30), 36 hours per week
• On-call is required: 2 calls per M–F week (either 7p–11p or 7p–7a), plus 1 day per week available to stay late
• Weekend call requirement: two 24-hour calls per schedule
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling is not available
• Charting is performed in Epic

Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required prior to start date (pending license accepted during consideration)
• Current certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
• Must be able to independently scrub cardiac surgery and circulate
• Trauma center experience at a large facility required
• Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate

• Must independently scrub and circulate for cardiac surgery cases
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as required by the facility
• Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccination exemptions are accepted for religious or medical reasons only
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Parking is available at an additional cost of $125/month
• Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
• Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• 1 reference required for consideration
