American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Cardiac Day shift position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of nursing experience with 1 year of recent cardiac telemetry experience.

Details

• 42-bed Cardiac Medical Unit (6 North) in an acute care hospital setting
• Primarily cardiac patients presenting with chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, and various cardiac arrhythmias
• Also serves medical patients with pneumonia, GI issues, COPD, diabetes, and occasional stroke, as well as surgical patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as determined by the facility
• Floating to other units and hospital locations required
• EMR: Meditech (experience not required)
• Timekeeping system: Centricity
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
• No disciplinary hits on license (past or current)
• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
• NURSYS verification required
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience (candidates with 18 months may be considered), with at least 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Current driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references within the last year required for consideration

• Virtual orientation provided, including competency-based modules — no HealthStream pre-modules required before start
• Candidates will be required to complete an online pre-assessment exam after accepting an offer
• Solid navy scrubs required
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restrictions and at the same rates as travel candidates
