American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool (Labor Pool) position at an acute care hospital in Albany, GA, requiring weekend-only availability and a flexible approach to floating across multiple units.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in Albany, GA with a 483-bed main campus and a 124-bed north campus
• Labor Pool assignment supporting Med/Surg, Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, and JFW units
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6; CNAs available with a general ratio of 1:8–1:10
• Telemetry monitoring available across multiple units
• Ventilator equipment on site includes BIPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, and Draeger (used on specific units)
• PICC line support available; no dedicated IV team
• RT and pharmacy support available 24/7
• Charting via MEDITECH EMR
• 12-hour day shifts, Saturday and Sunday only (0645 start)
• Every other weekend requirement (aligned with the Sat/Sun-only schedule)
• Floating required across multiple units; must be flexible with changing assignments during the shift
• Unit-specific orientation provided
• On-call/low census call requirements apply
• Holiday rotation shared with permanent staff

Requirements

• Active RN license — Georgia (GA) or Compact license required
• Required certifications for Med/Surg: BLS and either NIHSS or ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 prior travel assignment, OR 4 years of RN experience without travel experience
• MEDITECH EMR experience preferred
• Must be flexible with floating to multiple units and adapting to changing assignments
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for placement

Additional Information

• Med/Surg float nurses may be assigned to Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, and JFW units depending on census and staffing needs
• Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible for placement
• Any time-off or scheduling requests must be submitted and approved prior to the start of the assignment
• Scrub color required: Caribbean Blue
