American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at an acute care facility in Georgia, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and a valid GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital OR setting with 19 surgical suites performing approximately 55–60 cases per day (~1,000/month)
• Full-service OR performing a wide range of cases including robotics, ortho/neuro trauma, and cardiothoracic — no major pediatric cases, transplants, or C-sections in the main OR
• Facility functions at a Level 2 trauma level with ortho/neuro and cardio/thoracic specialty teams
• Day shift, 10-hour shifts (7a–5p)
• On-call required approximately 1–2 times per week and every 6th weekend; 30-minute call response time required
• Weekend coverage required approximately once per quarter
• Travelers may be asked to take specialty call (ortho/neuro or cardio/thoracic) only if cases are within their documented competency
• EMR: MEDITECH
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2–3 years of OR nursing experience required
• Broad OR competency across nearly all surgical services required
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (distance measured from address on driver's license) — candidates within 75 miles are not eligible
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Candidates employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible

• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Scrubbing is not required but is preferred
• One week of unit-specific orientation provided
• Weekend and holiday coverage rotates with permanent staff; flexibility is required
• OR techs are CST-certified and present in all cases
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
• Candidates must demonstrate broad surgical service competency — skills checklist must accurately reflect actual experience level
• Reliability, punctuality, and strong attendance are highly emphasized for this position
