American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring Epic proficiency and remote telemetry experience with adult to geriatric patients.

Details

• Hospital-based Medical Surgical unit with 33 beds and an average daily census of 28
• Adult to geriatric patient population with diagnoses including diabetes, post-op, wound vacs, and bariatrics, with remote telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and within scope of practice as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication framework

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two of them
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as one)
• No alternate shifts or special scheduling requests are permitted; the posted shift is firm
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities in this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration
