American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 1 year of experience, with floating across MS and MS/Tele units.

Details

• Hospital-based Med/Surg Float Pool position
• Adult to geriatric patient population with all potential MS and MS/Tele diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Floating required across all MS and MS/Tele units within the hospital; may include floating to a sister campus approximately 3 miles away
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required (averaging 6 weekends over a 13-week contract)
• No on-call requirements
• EMR: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4–12)
• Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO allowed; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must be available for two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review — Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
• No schedule change requests or alternate shift arrangements are permitted; the posted day shift schedule is firm
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed prior to the start date
