American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Smyrna, TN, requiring at least 2 years of PCU experience and post-cath care skills including TR band management.

Details

• 12-bed PCU in a Level III Trauma hospital
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Unit support includes 1 tech for the unit
• Patient population includes post-cath cases requiring TR band management and advanced pulmonary treatments
• Equipment includes GE monitors, Nova glucometers, and Pyxis medication dispensing
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating in rotation with full-time staff and other travelers

Requirements

• Active RN license — TN state license or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required for PCU RNs
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience required
• Experience with post-cath care including TR band management
• Experience with advanced pulmonary treatments and medication titration
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include AIDET communication, completion of communication board, and medication teaching
• Charcoal gray scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
