American Traveler is seeking a licensed RN for a Behavioral Health (Psychiatric) night shift position at an inpatient behavioral health hospital in Holyoke, MA, requiring at least 1 year of inpatient psychiatric experience and a current MA RN license.

Details

• Inpatient behavioral health hospital setting with 104 beds across five specialized units
• Patient population includes adults, geriatric, and pediatric (ages 5–17) patients
• Patient ratios of 1:8 (variable); geriatric and pediatric units maintain lower ratios
• Common diagnoses include schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and anxiety
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM with no block scheduling
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required
• EMR: Cerner
• Shift supervision only — no dedicated charge oversight

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient psychiatric nursing experience required
• Associate's degree in nursing or higher (from an accredited program) required
• Must be willing and able to work with both adult and pediatric patient populations
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of behavioral health patients through the nursing process
• Develops individualized nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Communicates changes in patient condition to physicians, nursing supervisors, and care team members as appropriate
• Participates in discharge planning for patients
• Blue scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
• Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
