American Traveler is seeking an experienced Psychiatric RN for a 13-week travel contract at a behavioral health inpatient facility in Holyoke, MA, requiring at least one year of inpatient psychiatric experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

• Inpatient behavioral health hospital setting spanning five units across adult, geriatric, and pediatric (ages 5–17) populations
• 104 total beds: two adult units (24 beds each), one geriatric unit (24 beds), and one pediatric unit (12 beds)
• Common diagnoses include schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and anxiety
• Patient ratio of 1:8 (variable); geriatric and pediatric units maintain lower ratios
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required
• Charting via Cerner
• Supervision provided by shift supervisors only

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient psychiatric nursing experience required
• Associate's degree in Nursing (or higher) from an accredited program required
• AHA BLS certification required
• AHA ACLS certification preferred
• Must be willing to work with both adult and pediatric patient populations
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of behavioral health patients through the nursing process
• Develops individualized nursing care plans in coordination with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Communicates changes in patient condition to physicians, nursing supervisors, and team members as appropriate
• Participates in discharge planning
• Blue scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
