American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position at a large Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 3 years of cardiac ICU experience and proficiency with Swan-Ganz monitoring.

Details

• CVICU in a large, Level I Trauma Center academic medical center with 1,567 staffed beds
• High-acuity cardiac ICU requiring knowledgeable, experienced RNs
• Average patient ratio of 1:2 on both day and night shifts
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Float to other Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) ICUs as needed
• Charting via Epic
• Block scheduling is not available for this position

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 3 years of cardiac ICU experience required
• Proficiency with Swan-Ganz (pulmonary artery catheter) monitoring required
• Experience at a large trauma center facility required
• RN license must be free of prior disciplinary actions
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have cardiothoracic ICU and/or critical care experience
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• RTO of 7 days or fewer may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
• Flu vaccination is required — declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccination exemptions are considered for religious or medical reasons only
• 13-week contract
